QuickTake: Nearly Half of Low-Income Adults Have a Family Member Who Was Uninsured during the Past Year

• About 46 percent of adults age 18 to 64 with incomes at or below 138 percent of the federal poverty level (FPL) have an uninsured family member.
• In comparison, only 6 percent of adults with incomes at or above 400 percent of FPL have an uninsured family member.
• Over 25 percent of all nonelderly adults in the South and West have an uninsured family member, a significantly higher percentage than in other regions.
